Mehndi Henna style ink drawings

Hi all!, I Have always loved the henna tattoos that woman from India wear . I wanted a way to keep the designs because the henna fades and the beautiful artwork is lost. I decided to make some artworks that will last forever! I used my fine tip sharpie marker on white heavy 118 lb. paper. I love Sharpies, so any excuse I have to use them I do. lol. Here are my drawings in black ink, I plan on making more in the series but adding color ink. I had a lot of fun creating these!

Surface Treatment Workshop Book review

I LOVE this book!!!
Surface Treatment Workshop is a technique book for mixed media artists. There are 45 techniques and each one has step by step instructions with pictures of each step. It also gives you information on what surfaces the technique works on, tips and tricks on each technique. A list of the materials needed. The archival quality of each technique, and troubleshooting information. What I like most about this book is that it gives you anywhere from 3 up to 10 picture examples of variations of each technique and how to acheive each variation. Every technique also has at least one finished artwork using that technique. The majority of the matierials usd are inexpensive. This is my go to book when I get stuck as to what to do next in a painting I'm working on!

New Abstract Art, Get some inspiration!

I recently became a member of Fine artamerica.com. FAA is a art site that you can upload your art and fine art photographs and others can purchase prints of artwork you like. It is alot more affordable to buy prints than the original work of art. They mat and frame it, and also you can purchase prints on canvas or metal at diffrent sizes. I love FAA! Below is a link to my store and I'm posting pictures of my works available there to give you some inspiration for your own artistic journey.

New Artwork and update!

Hi everyone. I am soo excited I just opened my store on FineArtAmerica.com! For anyone that does not know. Fine art america is a Print on demand site. Where millions of artists and photographers upload their photos and artworks and people can go to the site and buy prints on canvas or metal, or paper, and they will even frame and matte it if you want. There are alot of amazing paintings and photographs on the site. I  get alot of inspiration from my fellow artists there.

Here is a link to my store  jennifer-vazquez.fineartamerica.com .

I am going to try my best to start posting more here. I have had alot going on like everyone else with the holidays, now that it's January I  decided my new years resolution would be to post to my blog more often, and to work on my art more.  I organized all my art supplies and I am ready for a creative year!

I am going to start adding links in my posts to blogs I really like, or blogs that inspire me. Trish Bee has a great blog called technique zone. I love it!! Here's the link.
